Schools and school divisions
Practical, evidence-based professional development designed for school teams and division-level leadership.
THE CHALLENGE
Most schools are working hard. The problem isn't effort. It's that without a clear, consistent approach grounded in literacy science, the same gaps keep showing up year after year.
Foundational skill gaps persist across grades despite intervention
Inconsistent instruction across classrooms makes division-wide progress hard to track
Staff confidence and buy-in vary widely
Assessment data exists, but isn't consistently driving instruction
PD days feel disconnected from what teachers actually need in the classroom
OUR APPROACH
We work with your team where you are, whether you're just beginning to explore structured literacy or looking to deepen and sustain what's already underway. Every engagement starts with understanding your context, your data, and your goals.
Our work is grounded in structured literacy principles, MTSS, and practical classroom application. Your educators leave with strategies they can use on Monday morning.
We'll help you map the right path forward.
HOW WE WORK WITH SCHOOLS
Most schools don't need everything at once. We help you identify the right starting point and build from there.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AREAS
The sessions below reflect our core areas of expertise. Each one is tailored to your team's context, grade levels, and goals. If you don't see exactly what you're looking for, we build custom sessions too.
BUILD YOUR OWN SESSION
Every school context is different. If your team has a specific focus area, a combination of topics, or a challenge that doesn't fit neatly into one of the sessions below, we design a session from the ground up around your goals and your staff.
Past custom sessions have covered topics like:
CORE SESSIONS
A full-day session grounded in the Science of Reading. Educators leave with a clear understanding of how reading develops, why explicit instruction matters, and how to apply structured literacy principles in their classrooms. Available for K–3, Grades 4–6, and Grades 7–9.
Designed for school and division teams building or strengthening a Multi-Tiered System of Supports for literacy. Covers the MTSS framework, how to align Tier 1 instruction with evidence-based practices, how to identify and place students in Tier 2 and Tier 3 supports, and how to use data to drive decisions at each tier.
Available as a standalone full-day session or as an ongoing consulting engagement for divisions implementing or overhauling their MTSS framework across multiple schools.
Training for school teams on implementing and interpreting universal screening assessments with consistency and confidence. Covers accurate administration, data interpretation, and using results to drive Tier 1 and Tier 2 decisions within an MTSS framework.
An in-depth session on the role of syntax and morphology in reading and writing development, with a focus on how to implement instruction and intervention at each tier. Covers how to identify students who need explicit language instruction beyond phonics, how to embed syntax and morphology into Tier 1 classroom instruction, and how to build targeted small-group supports at Tier 2 and Tier 3.
Grounded in current research on language comprehension, vocabulary development, and the connection between oral language and literacy outcomes.
Practical training for educators implementing a structured phonics curriculum. Covers lesson structure, student placement, pacing, and instructional fidelity across diverse learner needs. Supports teams working with programmes such as UFLI Foundations, Wilson Reading System, and SPIRE.
Sentence-level writing strategies embedded across subject areas and grade levels. Designed for educators who want to build student writing skills without adding a separate programme. Available for primary and upper-elementary through secondary.
Targeted training for educators supporting older students who struggle with longer words. Covers evidence-based strategies for breaking down multisyllabic words and building fluent reading at the intermediate and secondary level.
For school teams supporting students who use augmentative and alternative communication. Practical strategies for building literacy skills alongside AAC use, with a focus on classroom application and team-based approaches.
Get in touch and we'll build a session around your goals, your staff, and your students.
GOING DEEPER
A single PD day shifts thinking. Coaching is what turns that shift into consistent classroom practice. For teams looking to go further, we offer ongoing coaching that supports educators in applying strategies with real students, in real classrooms.
Coaching includes classroom observation, lesson plan review, video feedback, and regular check-ins aligned to your implementation goals.
Tell us about your school and we'll put together a plan.
